Since early in our evolution, humans have used microbes to regulate gut health. At the recent MDS Conference in Copenhagen there were five abstracts submitted on the subject, with two reporting initial results from separate, double-blind trials. The results illustrate the challenges ahead in better understanding how probiotics can help in treatment of PD.
Unlike prior, peer-reviewed journal clubs, this is truly an opportunity to all learn together through discussion. Grab your favorite biome (yogurt, kim chi, sauerkraut, sourdough bread, a bottle of supplements, etc.) and join us for a vibrant discussion we hope will result in better outcomes for all as we explore this natural way to potentially improve the lives of those we treat.
