Newsletter: July 2026

Dear AMDAPP Community,

Summer is one of my favorite times of year because it means conference season is in full swing. Over the past several weeks, I've had the privilege of representing AMDAPP at both the ATMRD meeting and the AANP National Conference. Although each meeting has a unique audience and focus, they both reminded me why I love being part of the movement disorders community.

Whether connecting with APPs, physicians, researchers, or patient advocates, every conversation was an opportunity to learn, exchange ideas, and appreciate the collaboration that makes our community so special. One of my favorite parts of both conferences was seeing so many AMDAPP members presenting and sharing their expertise. Watching APPs take the stage to educate their peers is always exciting and a wonderful reminder of the impact our members are making across the movement disorders community.

One fun highlight from ATMRD was seeing actor Ryan Reynolds join a panel discussion on Parkinson's disease psychosis. Beyond the surprise celebrity appearance, it was a great reminder of how powerful public voices can be in raising awareness about important topics.

At AANP, I enjoyed connecting with nurse practitioners from across the country and sharing information about AMDAPP and movement disorders. I also had the privilege of presenting alongside Brenda, a care partner whose family's experience with Parkinson's disease psychosis reminded us that some of our greatest lessons come from the patients and families we serve.

As summer continues, I hope you have the chance to recharge, enjoy time with family and friends, and maybe even sneak away for a little vacation. Wishing you a wonderful rest of the summer, and I look forward to seeing many of you at upcoming AMDAPP events!
